Sharon Plezia

March 5, 1950 — October 8, 2019

Sharon Marie Plezia of Key Largo Florida passed away Oct 8, 2019 at home surrounded by her family, after a short struggle with an aggressive cancer.  Sharon was born in Royal Oak, MI to Preston and Dorothy (Mitson) Rose.  After growing up in Michigan and calling the New Jersey Coast home Sharon moved to the Florida Keys in 1998.  In her early life, she was a loving and dedicated mother to her son Scott Cycan and later grandmother to Dylan and Devin Cycan.  While in Key Largo, Sharon fell in love with Charles Bigger whom she married in 2015.

Sharon’s was a life of service to God, her family, and all those in need.  She loved all God’s creatures, great and small, was a lifelong lover of music, and throughout her life dedicated much of her time to helping those with special needs.  Sharon was active in her church and was a member of the Mangrove Swamp Band, Key Largo Dulcimers, and Florida Keys Northernmost Ukulele music groups.

Sharon is survived by her brother Jerry Rose, her son Scott Cycan, grandsons Devin and Dylan Cycan, her husband Charles Bigger, his daughter Ellen Bigger, and his son Tearlach Bigger and his wife Nicole Leal and their sons, Liam and Finn Bigger.

Sharon will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and community.  A celebration of life will be held at Burton Memorial United Methodist Church (TBA).  In lieu of flowers, the family asks to please consider a donation in remembrance of Sharon to the Florida United Methodist Children’s Home in care of Burton Memorial United Methodist Church of Key Largo.
