Neil was the youngest of 9 children, attended Saints Peter and Paul School in Miami and at 16 attended the University of Florida to earn a degree in chemistry. He later attended the University of Florida medical school, graduating in 1960, and did his internship at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami. In 1961, he joined the Navy as a Lieutenant, and served at the US Naval Station, Key West, FL.  He became a flight surgeon at Cherry Point, N.C in the 2nd Marine Aircraft Corps Squadron 27. He was a long time staff physician at Baptist Hospital and Chief of the Department of Orthopedic Surgery for a number of years.  Dr. Rohan was highly respected in his field, a gentleman, and loved by his patients.

He volunteered his services with International Medical Corps teaching at a hospital in St. Lucia.  He was sports medicine physician for the Lipton Tennis Tournaments on Key Biscayne, and team physician for Miami Jai Alai players during his career.

After more than thirty years in private practice, he retired to Key Largo, FL to spend more time pursuing his hobbies of golf, fishing, diving, flying his Beechcraft Bonanza and cheering on his beloved Gators and Dolphins.

He is survived by his lovely wife of 60 years Nancy Frederick Rohan, his four children Neil Jr. (Patricia Banks Rohan) Frederick (Dr. Linda Marraccini), Christopher (Diane Surak Rohan) and Mary along with six grandchildren: Charlotte, Caroline, Matthew, Tyler, Jordan (Dominguez) and Rohan (Dominguez).  Neil also leaves behind two sisters Mary Foley (CA) and Therese Heeb (FL), and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held in November at The Chapel at Ocean Reef.
