Anne Cullen

June 7, 1919 — July 22, 2016

Mrs. Anne Talman Cullen, age 97, of Key Largo, FL, died on July 22, 2016 at home. She was born on June 7, 1919 in Falls Church, VA. She moved from Ocean City, MD to Key Largo in 1965. She owned and operated the Shoreham Motel in Key Largo, Skippers (now Rock Harbor Club), the Shoreham, Seaview, and Hamilton Hotels in Ocean City, MD. Both Anne and Russ were very active members of the Key Largo Lions Club. After becoming a widow Anne lived for several years in Sarasota, FL. She enjoyed her last years living in Islamorada, FL with her daughter Colleen and son-in-law Tony Hammon. Her love of life, dancing, cruising, Big Bands and a good casino stayed with her until her final days on this earth. Loved by all who knew her, in her last years she developed an ever increasing love for her Lord and Savior and a longing to be with him.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John T. Talman and Eleanor Marshall Talman; 6 siblings; husband Russell H. Cullen Sr.; and three sons: Russell Jr., Bill, and Matt.

She is survived by four of her seven children: Mary Anne Roper (Jim) of Key Largo, FL; Colleen Hammon (Tony) of Plantation Key, FL; Fran Young (Mike) of Plantation Key, FL; and Patrick (Monica) of Oviedo, FL. She is also survived by eighteen grandchildren, thirty two great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

Services are scheduled for Saturday, August, 13, 2016 at 10:00 AM at Island Community Church,

83250 Overseas Hwy, Islamorada, FL; followed by private spreading of ashes; and at 2:00 PM a Celebration of Life will be at the Key Largo Lions Club, 5 Homestead Ave, Key Largo, FL (mm 99.5).

The family would like to thank Hospice and VNA of The Florida Keys for their comfort and care in Anne’s final days.

In lieu of flowers Anne has requested gifts be made to the Island Community Church (Island Christian School) Building Fund.
